Default 2007 street bob dual disk question

Been doing my research but have one final question about the dual disk set-up on my 2007 street bob.

I plan to get a right side fork lower from a 2008 Fat Bob to run the caliper on that side. Since they changed the axle size in 08, will I need to get a new left side lower and axle as well?

Also, are the lowers on the 08 Fat Bob gloss black?

Thanks guys!

The mounting holes for the fender in the Fat Bob are spaced differently than the Street Bob. Using a right side lower from the newer Lowriders is the perfect swap as they are identical but with the ability for a right side caliper.

Right. That's a good point.

I'm more concerned about the difference in axle sizes. Axles changed in 2008. I'm wondering if I can get away with buying the right side only or if I need both sides and a new axle.

Not sure for '07 but I'm planning on getting the '14 fxdl slider like Dyna Bagger suggested for my '13

The axle opening is the exact same size between the 1" axle and the 25mm. You'll be fine using either right side lower.

Thanks Chris. This should save me some $$$$.

Any idea what the difference is between the 07 and 08 sliders? I just looked up the part numbers and they are different.

07 FXDB right slider: 46607-06
08 FXDB right slider: 46607-06A

The letter at the end usually means a revised part. So it's still the same general part but slightly revised if that makes any sense. Could have changed the cast or something.

When they really change the part they will change the the last two digits of the part number to reflect on when it was changed. If I had to guess the 14 low rider lower leg probably has a -14 part number.
