Aligned to what? Never heard this from any build. Even the 150hp + builds.

I haven't seen the stamped 0 but I have noticed that it's possible to not have it in "time". The first time I slid it on the splines the bolts didn't line up in the center in the bores. I pulled the clutch off and rotated it to the next set over and you could see that they were centered the way they should be. Where's the stamped 0 suppose to line up? Is it possible for the hub and basket to not be in "time"? I mean they spin around each other right? Did you mean the hub and mainshaft?

Robby like soft said, I run it low because bandit only wants 12 oz in there to reduce drag. I run 16 oz to help the compensator out a little and the clutch still seems to operate fine

Soft I figured it was normal due to the low fluid levels but I'm still trying to get used to all the new noises. I put 25k on it basically stock so I'm used to a pretty maintenance free quiet bike. Wouldn't take it back for the world tho haha. I love all this power

Chatted with lots of guys with big inch motors spend lots of $$$ and time on noises all for nothing. Pretty easy to overlook some noise when you twist the throttle on that beast. So far the biggest HD if run across is a cvo 110. Guy didn't wanna play. He knew he had a faster bike. Buhahaha.

The clutch pressure plate holes, that have the hole and the adjuster nuts, with the clutch springs under them....this pressure plate gets off by 1/2 a tooth and thus the clutch hub springs ****, and the adjuster nuts drag ever so slightly on the pressure plate studs.

Trust me, call Bandit and they will tell you...there is clearly a (0) mark that you align on the pressure plate to the (0) mark on the inner hub while assembling the Sportsman clutch (at least on the three 2007 + bikes I've done) that aligns the pressure plate correctly over the 6 studs that protrude out of the inner hub.

There are 5 wrong ways to install the stackup and 1 right way. One would think the entire setup is symmetrical but it isn't.

(what isn't symmetrical is the splining machining of the big splines of the inner hub FYI)

Good to know. Must have got lucky. I've prolly done 100 wet clutches. All made sense when I put it together. I'll double check an post a pic when I tear it down in a few weeks.

That's the unfortunate problem with the bandit, you can assemble it and *think* you have it perfect, but only when the alignment marks are correct will the clutch pull butter smooth. When it IS aligned, it's the best clutch I've ever used to date.

Too bad it's so good that it will quickly exploit the weakness of a POS Harley clutch basket in no time. Been there done that.

That's the way it goes. Get a billet basket then the trap door flexes. Get a billet trap door then you break belts. Go chain then you want to drag race. Then you need a Pingel air shifter. Its a slippery slope.

Well **** why would that not be mentioned anywhere in the setup instructions? I really don't want to pull the primary cover back off right now. Next service I'll pull the pressure plate and align it correctly. It's always something... Agh don't even mention the stock clutch basket weakness. It's all I think about when I hammer the throttle. That's the main reason I'm holding off on the chain conversion
