100th anniversary model question
I have a 100th anniversary dyna lowrider and was wondering what some of you guys thought on making modifications to them. Every time I mention about different paint job or different mods to my bike, some people tell me that I am crazy for changing the 100th anniversary because it might be worth some money some day. Other people told me they over produced them and they probably wouldnt be worth anything more than another year harley. Just wondering your thoughts on making mods to this bike. Thanks
Jason
I mean it's like somebody telling you not to bang your wife until she is 55.........
. Personally, the black and silver did it for me.....Several here have 03' bikes...........bought my brand spankin new and have made numerous mods. There are some thingsI will never do though...
I'll never paint the original tins....that would be absurd.... you can get replacement tins for very little $$$$.
I will never get rid of any partthat is 100th anniversary marked.
Everything else is fair game I suppose in my book.
As to them being worth somethign someday...........the highest realization of appreciation would be in mint, never ridden condition of course.
03' bikes do carry somewhat of a premium....are at least you see them with higher $ tags, which could be for various reasons.
For a while the collectibility will go up then taper of if not go down.
All I can tell you is no one on this forum will see another HD 100th anniversary so that makes it worth more than a standard production bike to me.
Ride safe!

I will keep my 2003 Silver over Black as it is, thank you. I would just buy another bike if my paint finger starts to itch.........pg

There were more of them made than any other yearmodel as the production year was extended to be sure and make enough. If you look at HD commemorative models, you will find that most have not increased in value any more than ones that were not.
Compare the used prices of 80th Anniversary, 85th Anniversary, 90th, 95th, 30th Ann. Electra Glide, etc. etc.
