Hi all I'm new to harleys and last week I noticed that when I took my hands off the handlebars the front wheel started to speed wobble. Is this normal on a harley. All of my sportbikes had steering stabilizers on them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Before all the garage mechanics have you disassembling your bike start with the easiest first. Check your tire pressure. Low front tire pressure is the main culprit.
I can throttle lock my 2005 SG at "above legal highway speeds" and ride with no hands as far as I have open road. No stabilizers, dampeners, snake oil or anything.
All stock suspension.
Thanks guys. I did check tire pressure, both front and rear are spot on. I should have mentioned that it only happens at speeds below 40mph, at highway speeds I can let go and there is no wobble.
Take the bike to a Harley dealer. Let a Harley mechanic test ride the bike and tell you what is wrong.
No need to take chances. It might get worst at the wrong time.

Put a steering stabilizer on your new bike.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Ok, take some time and get used to a heavy weight bike before you try "sport bike" things with it. Might help.
I'm not trying to be rude but have you saddled up any heavy weight metric bikes?
1HD1,, ain't "sport bike"

When you are able, utilize the search function ref wobble. Dyna's are not noted for wobble. It is usually tire pressure, tire wear, tire balance or steering head bearings bad or loose.
