Damn thats exciting! Sounds like a significant improvement, how does the bottom compare to stock? I know the 57 moves things to the right a bit, just like to get your opinion on all sides of the rpm range. Also what elevation are you at?
The 57s will work better with compression but still work great without - just another reason these cams are so good. You could wait if you want but there is no big reason to except maybe not having to cut the prs out and maybe not having to take the exhaust off twice.
Great point, likely not much duplicated work. Tuning might be the largest consideration. The plan was TTS auto tune w/future dyno if that doesn't seem to be working out.
JMummery, hows the valve train noise compare before/after? Any significant reason you went w/ SE adjustables over S&S? I have SE perfect fit, but will likely just sell them and go adjustable after all. (considering future head work).
So I got to ride her to autozone and holly **** am I impressed. So with that said I approve this message and nor do I condone anyone riding like i do.
So ,I like to go fast and was able to stretch her legs on an empty back road. I was in 4th gear and gunned it, 5790 rpm and had plenty to go and hit 115 mph. On the way home I took the freeway And 6th feels like the power I have in 5th. Just roll on and she scoots. Big smiles are we're on my face the WHOLE time. Well worth the asspain I went through for this upgrade.
I set my rev limit to 5800. Bounced it couple times. I prefer to keep it under 5000 as I don't know how well the stock rotating assembly can handle high rpm without being welded and trued. Mine feels like it comes on well right above 2000 but took a lot of accell enrichment out of the tune to get there.
I noticed the black covers, and thought they looked real good; for that matter the whole bike and garage looks good! I hope to pull 99% of the decel popping out as well.
I just have an observation to mention. The rug you do your work on looks a lot like the rug I have in my living room. Also, your garage floor looks like you could eat off it. On another note I did the whole cam change and just the satisfaction of doing it yourself is worth the struggles.

Lololol! Everytime I see JMUMMERY post I can't stop staring at the most amazing garage floor known to man.....mine has pot holes.
