Your Dyna model has a hot wired so called B+ plug under the seat. More info on this subject to be found over here:
Did some Google searching and I think I found the wiring diagram for your heated grips:
Looking at this diagram, I noticed there's no option to control the power for the grips like H_D heated grips have (see image below).
In order to be able to have the grips circuit controlled by the ignition switch I'd recommend to add a fuse holder in the red wire and follow the instructions at page 7 under ORANGE/WHITE LEAD CONNECTION TO SWITCHED POWER SOURCE for the 2003-Earlier Dyna Models.
To install the heat demon heated grips i just purchased It says to tap into the orange/white wires to get power for them as they are the accessories wire. Do u know if that color coded wire is switched so that they dont continue to drain. My battery after i turn the bike off?
And where is the best place to cut and make that 2 way splice?
