Default Forward Control bore size?????

Changing out the stock mid controls on my 2000 FXDL. Looking at JayBrake brand. Problem is they have two bore sizes listed for my year. I am not sure why. Can anyone explain how to determin what size is right? they list a 5/8 and a 3/4 bore. Called the stealer and was told 9/16 any idea's??

Thanks!

Depends on how many pistons in your caliper(s) and how big they are or if you're ever planning on upgrading brakes down the road.

I found some good information searching around a month ago, give it a try. Lots of articles on this.

A bigger master cylinder bore will move more fluid but have a spongier feel, smaller bore moves less fluid but has a firmer feel...I think. Also, I believe a smaller bore exerts more PSI on the rotor?

Which ones are you looking at? All the ones I saw in their online catalog said 5/8".

I went with the 3/4 on my 2003 using there 6 piston caliper. I wanted the brakes to respond fast. So I figured with the extra pistons the bigger bore would be a good idea.It works great and is a hugh difference over the stock unit.
