I don't know if you could get a dealer to help or not, but I would try a independent shop and see if they have a tire with decent tread left that was replaced by a customer. Some people like to replace their tires early.
I'd rent/borrow or use your own a car to commute until you get a new tire.
Human nature regarding hardship cases and desperation means you will (or might) get taken advantage of.
AFAIK, due to liability, no shop will install used motorcycle tires.
But you can always dumpster dive behind a HD dealer and mount the tire yourself.
Around my parts folks help out a lot. i was close to broke and needed a tire. Posted it on the WTB board explaining I needed some help. Got a email telling me to send my addy. A hour later a guy dropped by with a fair tire and sent me to a shop close by, they mounted it and balanced it for free.
Like I said I'm too far away to help. Alabama isn't a short ride for you.
I almost change my rear tire kinda early and keep tires. I have 3 good used ones and 4 new ones in the shop. I pick up outstanding deal son tires all the time. sometimes you can find some steals. 2 of em is new HD tires I picked up for $175 for the pair of em.
Hang in there someone might show up to help u out.
