FXDC to Switchback wheel swap...........

Well I finally got around to mounting F&R Switchback wheels on my 2013 FXDC.
I loved the look of the mag wheels on the FLD when it first came out but there were just some things that I didn't like about the bike. Cool concept but IMO HD dropped the ball by not using Chrome Covers and the styling on that front fender.
The rear FLD wheel was a simple R&R and went on effortlessly. The front took some planning as the FLD wheel is wider then the stock FXDC one. I measured & remeasured everything. There was just no way that the mag wheel was going to fit into the standard width fork without some major modifications.
Here is where HD shines, by simply ordring the Triple Tree's for a Fatbob along with the associated parts I figured everything would be a simple swap. Well I ordered all the parts and when everything arrived I figured I could get everything done in 1-2 days.
Having a extra set of hands sounded like a good idea so I lined up one of my buds for the job. Well everything went together smoothly as planned and we were done in less then 5 hours.
The only thing that didn't go as planned was the Fatbob front fender. I had to fabricate some custom mounts as the lower legs on the FXDC and Fatbob are different. We were able to do that the next day so now it's off at the painter. Soon as I get it back it won't take 5 minutes to finish the job. Then it's off to Sunny Florida for some long needed Sun, Riding and Relaxation.
