Thinking about putting a sissy bar on my 14 Wide Glide. Not worried about detachable. Looking for reviews of Bowman welding sissy bars. Also, looking for recommendations for sissy bars. Probably going to go 16" to 24".
Although I have the shorter version (12" or 14" i think), I am a fan. finding a decent sized pad for the round bar is a bit tedious. I originally was using just the bottom mount for this pad since I had it from my Sportster anyway:
I eventually broke down and got the pad made for the round style sissy bar:

The wife is okay with it. It just doesn't provide quite as much area to cinch down my Over the sissy bar backpack.
Overall, I am very happy with the bar. The company was easy to work with. And if you aren't putting a pad on, all of this is moot anyway.
Highly highly highly recommended. As you can see by my pics I love it for storage and securing while riding.
I will say that the powercoat he used when I bought mine 3 years ago, i guess is a shittier powdercoater he uses now. I had to wrap it in tape until I can afford to get it coated again.
About year after I got it;
Heres one with my computer attached. (Heading to the college)
We ended up going camping last year on the bikes...No bags, no problem! (That one string thing hanging it my camelbak tube.)
Go camping and need a truck to go get wood? Not when you have a Bowman sissybar! (I did put a rag over my luggage rack to prevent stratches)
