I have been doing a lot of looking into seats ( mine sucks) I have narrowed it down to what I like the looks of and its the saddlemen 's .
I am torn between the ultimate comfort explorer (1 piece)
And the dominator(2 piece) I can't find literally anyone who has this seat and it looks like a really nice seat . if there is ANYONE out there that owns or has owned either of these seats , please chime in with your thoughts on them .
Any feedback is greatly appreciated
Ps
I have heard from a couple people that love the explorer and if it were a 2 piece I'd be all over it in. A second . I really like the solo seat when I'm riding alone and I am hoping the dominator is as comfortable as te ultimate explorer
Looks like in the second pic you sent that it doesn't rub the sissy bar side plates either .... Can't say that for the sundowner , it rubs bad!
Thanks for the reply and pics !
Thanks for the replies guys !
Seems like most people are quite happy with the explorer in all of its variants .
I really like the looks of the dominator and the fact that it's a two piece ... According to Saddlemen sales support , they claim it's the most comfortable two piece that they make and as close to comfort as they have to the explorer in a solo seat soooooo
I'm gonna be the ginuea pig ... I placed an order today and it's expected to deliver Wednesday .... I will post my review on it as soon as I can since there is zero info out there on that seat
Saddlemen Explorer (with the driver back rest option) here. Well-made, very comfortable, and my passenger loves it. Looks good (better than the usual massive pillow-foam things anyway) and is surprisingly low-profile. It feels hard initially, but gives in the right places (it's got memory foam or whatever, I don't know, in it I guess...). That said, when I ride on my own, even long distances, I just use my little Mustang Cyclone Solo...
I have the explorer but i was surprised to find out it wasn't all leather. It has this stretchy material that soaks up water when it rains when im at work. Thats the only bad thing other than it didnt last. Ive had it only for a couple months and the cheezy fabric frayed in the front where the stitching ties it into the leather. I called Saddlemen and they said they would replace it with the same seat but with saddle hyde (aka vinyl). I cant find any reviews on the vinyl. Can anyone help with some input?
