Horn Cover Question...

Horn Cover Question...

Quick question for anyone, might be a long shot...does anyone happen to know the thread pitch of the bolt that secures the horn cover? I went to change mine out today and found that the previous owner cross-threaded it. I was at the hardware store today (figures whenever I'm making changes to my toys, I don't have the tools I need), and was going to try and figure out the thread while I was there by the nut that went on it, but those were useless as well. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Google is saying 5/16-18 Ace hardware has chrome and stainless. If for some reason it's a finer thread then 5/16-24 which is the same as the exhaust and several others.

Lol thanks a lot. I looked for that for a while last night and couldn't find anything, but I'm guessing it was because I was frustrated with it. I'm going to do my best not to replace it, I'm hoping I'll be able to chase the threads. I've had good success doing that with some other stuff in the past.
