Question Shock upgrade

I was thinking of going from 12" stock shocks to 13" Progressive 444. But was wondering will it affect the handling?

It will allow you a little more ground clearance without scraping, and give you a little more suspension travel which is never a bad thing. Most people are happy with their decision to go taller in the rear. I went from 13" to 12" shocks because with the Mustang Vintage solo seat I use my legs were almost straight and it would cause my right leg to get real hot next to the rear cylinder at stop lights and such.

12 to 13.5 with no ill effects. Better clearance and faster turn in

Of course it will affect the handling. For the better. Probably a lot better, considering how mediocre the stock shocks are. When I upgraded mine I went .6" longer and just the longer travel was a major improvement.

I'm very happy with my 13" shocks, much better ride/handling than the stock 12" stocks could ever give.

I have Works 13.5" shocks - they are set up for weight- riding style. Great cornering - overall ride wuality is far better than stock.

The only bad thing you give up is stock ride quality.

Better handling, better ride and better cornering. Upgrading my shocks was the most rewarding money I pent on the bike.

Honestly, I cannot think of a downside to the shock swap proposed by the OP.

I have a Street Bob, My wife loves to ride with me but we bottom out on bumps and railroad tracks. We are a mid sized couple, what would be good suspension upgrades? I don't have a big budget, any DIY fixes? Any experiences?
