Progressive shocks?
Having a helluva time with the search feature of the site. Between slowness and returning 0 results I'm having no luck. Forgive the duplicate questions.
I'm thinking of upgrading the rear shocks on my SG. I'm looking for comments on those that have already done this to comment on2 up riding. I know the Progressives are not air adjustable. Does losing the factory air adjustment really matter, are the progressives really a 2 riding scenario shock?
For instance, will riding solo and riding 2 up return similar road feel and ride?
I don't want to raise the bike any and keep the same level stance without having the rear be higher, which shocks will I need?
Or is it a better/cheaper route to just get a stock Harley RoadGlide shock?

Progressive 440's are superior to the factory shocks. Go with 12" model.

There isn't really an 'upgrade' when it comes to comfort with the stock Harley shocks. Not that they aren't comfortable (mine are great), but the Progressives are quite a bit better overall. They are definately pricier, but you get what you pay for!
If price is not an issue, the best shocks for a cadillac ride are http://www.worksperformance.com/. You will not find a better shock if your looking for comfort. The Steel Trackers DRS & ARSare super smooth.
Any aftermarket shock is going to be better then the stock Harley air shocks.
The progressive 440's are good shocks but if you are going to spend that much money you might as well throw in another $100 and get the best of the best!

I put 12" 440's on my Road King this winter. I have only ridden a small number of miles becuase of weather and road conditions but the 440's do seem a lot better than the stock air shocks.
Thanks all for the replies. I have seen those worksperformance shocks. So what do you do, flip the lever when you're riding solo vs. 2 up to get the different spring rates for the added weight?
I checked out both sights and had no luck finding out which model I would need for my SG and keep it the stock height.

Can't comment on the Progressive but have the Works on mine and they are a huge improvement over the stock shocks.
Call Works and ask for Darrel he was very helpfull when I bought mine. The thing I liked was that they will build the shocks for your riding style.
