The burlys really look good on the FXDWG's and Im think bout it...I had some wiring issues early on with my bike (2013 Dyna Wide Glide, I imagine because the tech did a not so hot job when the tag and light relocation kit was installed so I could fit hard bags on her. Soon after lights went out due to tire rubbing wires. Had to take bags off and make some new wires and then secure them under rear fender better...done....now I want to drop the **** a bit for that low look but am afraid the 180mm stock tire will again be a problem....whaddya think?
They look cool and ride rough. My brother in laws old bike had the slammers on it. They're basically $200 hardtail struts. In my opinion too much ride performance and comfort is sacrificed to put them on a serious bike. 12" is the minimum rear shock length that I will run. Some people favor looks, some favor comfort and handling. You could always try them out for yourself, if you don't like them you could dump them off in the classifieds and not be out much money.
I know there's people that run them and I'm sure one or more will be along shortly to call me a ***** but that's my opinion of those shocks.
Didnt know bout the ride Man, thanks, the stock shocks leave much to be desired so I thought what the he## go for the look then but the burlys sound even worse than stock. May as well stay where I'm at then...Thanks Ape.
I know a soft tail would be the answer, but I just cant see Me on a softail.......hell sayin it dont even sound right. Speaking strictly about motorcycles here...
I don't have any experience with them on a dyna but I did have them on my sportster. I changed the rear and took it for a ride to see what it was like with rears only. It definitely rode very firm. After putting in the front springs it had me looking for bumps in the road and lifting myself off of the seat when I'd see a decent bump (bridges etc.) coming up. It definitely looks cool. I don't know if I'd do it again. The ride is more important to me than the looks. In fact my wide glide is staying stock ride height.
I ran the Slammers for 5 years, they are good, but if I were to go slammed again, I would spend the extra cash and go with the Progressive 430's in the 11" or the 444 in the 11.5", it's a much shock and has more adjustability. They bothe come in longer length also, up to 13" I believe.

I'd rather have a Dyna with Burly Slammers than a Softail.
