So I'm picking up my "new" 07 WG on Tues. Well it's new to me. It's an 07 with 328mion it. Owner bought it in Feb and turned around and traded it for the SE Super Glide edition.
However, prior to having his change of heart,,, He decked out his,,, excuse me,,, my WG with a Stage-1, new 204 cams, SERT,and a bunch of other stuff.
Seems he must have been a tall fella cause he had the fwd control extension kit installed. Now me not being such a tall fella am going to have to move them back. Looking at it, it seems that even I should be able to handle the job. So, my first question is;
Is there any procedural things I need to be aware of???
(I know I have to get the stock length linkages, just wondering if there are any tricks to it.)
As I mentioned before he added a bunch of stuff to include a set of V&H Short Shots. They are loud. In fact I think I want to install the quiet baffles. My 2nd question is;
Can the baffle install take place in my garage, and if I get them installed what changes if any will I have to make to the breathing system???
My sig pic is about to change
I'll post pics of the new kid, once I bringit home...
The quiet baffles arnt that much quieter
It's a easy switch ,Just remove the heat sheilds first. Once you Install the quiet baffles there a pain to remove.
Which dealer did ya find that at ? Just curious. I had thesameoffer given to me. Guy traded his new wide glide in on aCVO super glide..
First off Congrats on the new ride...Both jobs should be pretty easy normal hand tool stuff... As far as the retune with the quiet baffles I would say that it shouldn't need to be retuned..Provided it's mapped correctly now...I be honest with you I have the V&H shorties on my Bobber and when I first installed them I thought they were too loud(if there is such a thing) but you really get used to the tone of the pipes quick..I'd ride it a bit before you change out baffles..just my $.02 Later..Keep the rubber side down
I see your from Fairfax, I'm down here in Woodbridge... Was at Patriot yesterday and took the dive. Had been thinkin about the brand-new Pewter Pearl glide,,, until I saw the Red one...
LOL..... that's the same bike. Good deal I almost bought it a couple weeks ago unseen.Open House was some good barbaque... I rode my old 33 up there great weather Congrats on the bike. If ya need help yell not a big deal.... Stay away from East Coast H.D. except for maybe some parts...
