Try this in the tire section? Maybe you will get more response? I would like to know as well because I have an 02 Wide Glide and was wondering the same thing? Good luck!
you can fit the screamin eagle 180 on the stock rim and you'll be all good.if you want to fit the 200 you have to go to a wider rim. how wide you ask, i don't know. seen a few manufacterers rec 5.5 to 6.0 inch depending on the tire.
What size are you running now? I think the stock width on the '00 models was 140mm, they upped that with the same stock rim in 2004 to 150mm and the best I've seen on a stock rim w/o any modifications or wider rims was a Metzler 160 mm. I'd check with your tire guy or dealer, while a 180 may go on a stock rim, it might be squeezed at the rim and not fit right. Just something to keep in mind before you go out and buy a wider tire. Another possibility is an 18" rim with a low profile tire if you're running a 16" rim now.
I thought about that Dglide04. I guess it's kind of silly when you think about it. I mean we do all this scheming and asking just for 1-3 MM difference? Kind of silly I guess. I'll probably just stick with the stock size for now. Thanks for the input.
I have a 00 Dyna X. How wide of a rear tire will run on the stock spoke wheel with no other modifications?
I have a 2000 wide glide and asked the same question before. I was told that the maximum size is 150 on stock rim / fender / swingarm. Now, someone is sayint 180??? is that right, or just a guess????
I have an '07 Lowrider with a 180 on it. Harley dealer installed it before I picked the bike up. I couldn't get anything wider on the bike without fender clearance becoming an issue.
I remember this topic from before & believe dgglide04 has it right. don't quote me but Isure my rear metz is 160mm. and it does look much wider thanbefore w/no problems. metz are thinner than flops for sure!
