Hello
I have a '05 Wide Glide EFI. 11k and some change. Bought it used with around 9800 miles. Came with V&H straightshots. No clue if the ECU was flashed or not.
When I bought it, ran great. Later in the year, AH! Burning oil... I was a victim of the so called 'common' problem of faulty installation of valve seals. Had both sets replaced, front and back. A month of two later I installed a V&H fulepak, which I recently and quickly removed; just made it act really weird.
What I am noticing now is that (actually this happened with and without the FP) is that either cold, warm or hot, spring summer or winter, is that when I start it up, it may turn 2-3 times, then i will get it to fire once, but just that once. I'll crank again and it will start fine. The idle seems a little unstable, not terrible, but just doesn't sound right. The idle eventually will go to around 1000 RPM and it holds. I'll let it warm up for several mins until the head is warm.
Let's say i'm at a stop light and I just give the throttle a slight punch to scare the person texting in the car next to me, it seems to have a tendency to struggle for a split second.
Maybe I'm just paranoid, and this is normal.. Any thoughts???
Was just browsing around and saw some common, but not entirely related things to try.... 1, cleaning the IAC valve, and checking the TPS for corrosion, etc. Could these be possibilities??
I have some seafoam, I'll put a cap-full or two in and see what happens.
