Just don't rule out a Wide Glide. I have ridden every model made and the d.o.t. does not maintain a road the Wide Glide will not handle as well as any.
Oh , don't forget the black spray paint!
No one said it wouldn't handle them, it just won't handle them as well. Pretty simple to understand, although the truth usually isn't important to people driven by emotion and opinion. Your black spray paint comment isn't even remotely relevant to what's being discussed here and comes across as very immature, which is something you're probably no stranger to hearing. Again, if you're happy with your WG and it's handling ability, good for you. For future reference, not everyone is going to agree with everything you say on the internet, the sooner you learn that, the easier surfing the www will be.

I have a 14' FXDWG and it does fine for me in the twisty roads of North Carolina, however this is very subjective. When you look at motorcycle geometry there are always gains and sacrifices with different setups. I think a street or fat Bob would probably handle better in the parking lots and curves. I prefer the look and riding position of the WG and these were more important factors for me. Decide what is most important to you and then try each one. Just my $.02

This guy lol

I've riden and owned bikes that were 9.5' long. Long forks and steep rake angles aren't the answer for the "twisties" as the OP was asking about. I've also ridden sport bikes for many years and daggin' knee was a norm on the weekends. I think I have a bit of handle of what I'm talking about. I'm not referring to race tracks all though some of us like to cruise and go back and forth weeee, fun, great, and there's nothing wrong with that (which I WG will do that all day just fine). Some of us like to use and abuse our bikes and tear it up. Some don't even like to turn at all lol. I was far from bad mouthing the Wideglide buddy. They're nice bikes and I myself have no problem riding one and keeping up with your "average" rider through curvy roads. I was laying some examples out and what should be common knowledge among fellow riders, but that's what we're here to do. Help out the guys who don't know, NOT bad mouth other peoples bikes, models, or style of riding etc etc. Yes a wideglide WILL NOT handle like my Bob. I would challenge anyone who thinks I'm wrong through a canyon run any day. I'll be waiting at the bottom... or top, which ever direction you prefer to get smoked on! Loser buys the beer.

P.S. I prefer Budweiser lol.

I come from dirt bikes and all street bikes actually seem sluggish to me. I'm sure you can smoke me in the canyons. We don't have those here in Mississippi! Lol!

Agreed the current offering is not the best ever. My '09 Fatbob with mids handles well overall, but it is heavy when "tossing around" in the canyons. The wide front tire is nice and planted, but slower leaning compared to the skinny front on the Street Bob. My FXR is great, but still heavy, although better frame and geometry than my Dyna. My Sporty is the most entertaining HD I've ridden through the twisties. Lightest, nimblest, needs suspension upgrades, but they all do really. My 72 has nice lean angle and perect grunt for coming out of corners. Worth a test drive.

I'd still say Dynas are fun on all roads, including the twisties, even if there are more purpose built bikes, and earlier HD models.
