I'm looking to change the crap stock shocks on my 06 Bob. I've looked (and searched) through the forums, and it seems nearly everyone who has changed shocks has gone to 11". I agree it looks better, but I'm not sure I want to mess around with the quality of the ride and so am looking to replace the standard shocks with a straight replacement i.e. 12" Progressives.
Has anyone else done this?
The standard shocks just aren't working for me. They're only ok when riding solo (I'm 200lbs) but absolute rubbish when my wife's on the back (she's 120lb). And yes, I've adjusted the preload many times.
i finally got my 11inch black progressives today, put them as soon as i opened the box, went for a short ride and i was expecting it to be alot stiffer. i was suprised how great they felt, the bike was alil more rigid but not bad, less bounce after a bump and the handling felt improved... i would highly recommend
Hey ChromeRider, cool looking bike. I like those FLH looking shocks. I'm looking to put some of those on my '06 SG Custom. Where did you find shocks like that to fit your bike and can I get some for mine? Also, that teardrop headlight looks great. I'm thinking along those lines or maybe a dual headlight arrangement.

RE: 11" or 12" Progressives
What about splitting the difference and going with 11.5 inchers? Progressive makes a few other models that fit the 06/07 Dynas and they have them in 11.5 inches. That is what I think I'm going to do.
