Default Decel pop and gurgle

Have a 2014 FXDWG with dealer installed V&H big radius, SE air filter and dealer Dyno tune. I have noticed a loss of about 40 miles on my fuel range and the bike makes a gurgling sound on decel. I don't know how to best describe the sound....but it's more of a gurgle with the occasional pop. Any thoughts? Should I take it back for a tune? Call fuel Moto ?

Was it really dyno'd or did you get the stage 1 flash/download? Pipes and AC will cause the decel pop. I had the same issue, and so does pretty much everyone else with the same upgrades. I bought a TTS Mastertune, and had it dyno'd by a pro, and no more decel pop.

It was actually Dyno tuned, I watched. It took about 4 hours.

Did you purchase a "tuner" for the bike or did they just do a dealer flash and then put it on the Dyno? Something's not right.

They used a SE super tuner and I still have it. They said it was "married" to my bike.

Had the same thing.
Had V&H SS,SE breather,and dyno,on my fatboy.
Not pleased, ran hot,and lot of decel popping.
Got the Superchips Vigilante tuner, put in new tune, bike runs a lot better.
Only complaint,idle a little high.
Hope this helps

I am running V&H 3" slip-ons, a DK Customs 587 AC and the Nightrider FL-Vied's set at 80% on my 14 Fat Bob with no decel popping at all. Next week I have an appointment at an INDY shop to see how much of a gain in HP and Torque there is.

They may or may not have done a good tune. A less than good tune would partially account for the decrease in mpg.

No matter how good the tune, with those pipes you are going to have some weakness in the low & mid range...where you will compensate by twisting the throttle more, resulting in a drop in mpg.

The bike will run stronger and get better mpg (everything else being equal) if you install some Thunder Torque Inserts. After that, then an informed decision can be made if they need to do some more work to get the tune where it should be.

The Power Vision is a better tuner (IMO) than the SE Super Tuner. But you already have it, and it can get the job done, I would not spend more on a PV.

The tune is not right if your getting less mileage and less power. I have experienced the gurgling sound, it's not harmful for the bike but it also points to a weak tune.
