Default Best Battery?
The battery in my 11 SB is about gone. Is the Harley brand the best replacement? Got 4 years out of this one so thats not too bad...

You might laugh but the original harley battery on my 06 Dyna died last year. 8 years is pretty good in my opinion.

Its a hit and miss all around. The Moco battery does seem to do well and has good CCA. There are many alternatives out there but if a failure of the battery does occur a dealership is about anywhere. A comparable would be a yausa sealed agm if you can find one at a brick and mortar store( warranty wise).

We use Yuasa batteries for various applications where I work (offshore). Like most equipment in industry these get used and abused and seem to take it well.

I'm not caught up in the "lithium" craze. I can appreciate that for some applications, like attempting to power cars electrically, they may be "opportunity" writ large but for starting a motorbike ? I think they're an answer to the question nobody asked. If a guy wants to lighten the operating weight of his ride, he'd be better advised to just lay off the cheeseburgers IMHO.

Most people on this forum seem to agree that the HD OEM battery works well and has the right posts for attatching the cables. 4 or 5 years with a battery is pretty darn good.

Run the Shorai lithium for the past 2 seasons so far......not the cheapest option, but I love it at only 4 lbs and 550 cranking amps.

I have the original OEM battery going on 8 years. I noticed a little slow cranking this week, but it was sitting off the tender for 2 or 3 weeks.

About 10yrs ago I was in a bind and found myself at Advance Auto Parts. My last 3 bikes I've owned I've bought AGM batteries from AAP and they all were rock solid.

Nice! I ran a turntech in my crf450x; great battery no issues & very light, when this one dies Ill likly switch over./
