Don't "cut it",, just get a small wire tie and fold the thing up a bit and tie wrap it to the other wire bundle behind the ac plate.
You can cut it if you want, but years from now you sell or move on and it leaves a question for the next guy.
I guess I just don't like to do the "bubba fix" to stuff on my bike

Leg clearance is definitely better than stock, mostly because it doesn't take up as much room front to rear. My leg still touches it sometimes but no nearly as much as it did stock or on my old bike with the elbow type ac that I always bashed my knee on. I'm hoping the stock breather bolts will still work with the system as they don't come with any others and the instructions say to use them if you haven't got your own. I still haven't got to go on a real ride because since the install its been snowing, hopefully this weekend I will get some miles on though.

The DK Custom A/C does give better leg clearance, my leg never touches mine but of course I did add an oil pressure gauge to bump my knee on occasionally

The stock breather bolts and how you've routed the hose should work fine, I've experimented with quite a few different arrangements over the years, I really like the horseshoe breather setup and the DK Custom breather bolts, when my WG was new I did seem to get excessive misting from the breather bolts and switched to the horseshoe, I run SAE 50 weight VR1 oil and keep my oil level correct and as I've gotten miles on the bike running a great tune using a Power Vision the misting has become negligible and I like the clean look to the A/C they give so I'm running the DK Custom breather bolts again, but that horseshoe breather is going to end up on 'something' Options, it's what having an HD is all about

Two different looks

That's good to hear. The stock cleaner cover doesn't give me trouble, I just wanted to be sure this doesn't stick out further.

Does anyone know what K&N filter that DK 587 kit uses? I'm considering a switch but I want to compare the air flow to what I'm currently using - an S/E backing plate with a K&N HD-0800. http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?prod=hd-0800

I don't have the box from the filter any longer but the filter itself is marked A059B4, it's 5.87" OD, 4.87" ID, 1.81" in height... hope that helps!

Based on that I think it's E-3212. No air flow stats on specs, but based on the size, I have to assume the HD-0800 allows a little more airflow. Thanks.

I just bought the 587, I'll check the filter part # in a few hours. Does anyone know what to torque the breather bolts to? I got the premium discreet breather set up. Did you guys all use blue loctite on breather bolt threads?
