JP sells a set that gives you 2 inches of extra reach and it costs only $89. The kit includes the extension brackets and a new brake and shifter rod. All parts are chrome plated. I've had mine for about a year with no problems.

Just take some thick steel plate drill regular holes that match up with frame, then measure out how much further you want to go, make sure you have the same angle and spacing and mirror two more holes at the lenghth you want. plate steel that size can almost always be found free in scrap piles in steel wherehouses. Total cost free.

Hey Dave:

Your info is exactly what I have been waiting on. You be willing to measure the lengths of your shifter and brake linkages?

Thanks Dave. I read through the forward you linked above. I want the measurements of you linkages to see if they will work on the 06. Everything I have seen is listed for use on prior year's model, not the 06 or 07.

Here is what I bought $161 to my door. My only concern is I hope they come with everything I need.

They are listed to work with the 49080-03 controls. I installed the 49080-06 controls. Trying to find out if they will work.

Ok, here are the measurements:

Shift Linkage - 16 inches
Brake Rod - 24.5 inches

for perspective, here are the measurements of the original parts:

Shift Linkage - 13.8 inches
Brake Rod - 22.5
