Does anyone know of any engine bolt kits that are brass bolts? are the alan bolts on push rod tubes and the covers grade 5 or grade 8. Was thinking about replacing them with brass alan bolts but wasn't sure on the strength of them and what they needed to be.
re plating the bolts, though real brass plating would tarnish too I think. There are probably brass-look platings you can get that would be ok with the heat and not tarnish... (and possibly even heat resistant brass-look rattle-spray can stuff...)
Also, in boat making, they use silicon bronze bolts etc, which is like brass but much stronger and more corrosion resistant (but more expensive...). Maybe hit up a marine hardware joint.

Brass feral or water line compression fits 5/16th fit perfectly over the factory harley allen bolts of the engine and primary. A small dab of super glue holds them on and you can still access the head

Looks unique.
Prob look more like they weren't a misapplication of a plumbing ferrule if you filed them slightly so they're flush with the base of the curve on the bolt head, instead of sticking out like they are.
Right, most wouldn't recognize them. I was thinking file them at the base then install them so they taper to the bolt head end. Looks good though, I've always liked brass trim.
