The Logical Method of Upgrading Exhaust, Intake and Fuel Management
The install was pretty easy on all three sides of it. The pipes took three of us but one friend is just a natural with things mechanical and he managed 99% of the takedown and install while we cheered and handed him tools. I did the FP and the intake. Not too bad, really. Just didn't rush it. Things went very smoothly. Getting the FP in under the ECM module was rough. At one point I wanted to jump up and down on it until I could hear plastic shattering to get it in on top of the battery and under the frame.
Sound? Loud and ground shaking. Performance? Better throttle response and quicker up the gears. I believe it may have picked up 6 to 10 HP but more than that my MPG increased, it sounds awesome and it all looks very sweet. I'll do some pix next time I check in and thanks again for the group wisdom here!
You need to decide where you want the bike to be in the end....
Top power pipes are:
D&D, RB Racing, Vance & Hines Pro Pipe & Thunder Header would be my goto.
Tuners:
Thundermax(will be run on all my future bikes!), TTS, Power Vision by Power Commander. All those are available to autotune.
Intakes:
They are all pretty much the same, so find one that suites your taste.
If I couldn't get all 3 at once exhaust would be the first to change cause stock SUCKS azzzz then tuner along w/ intake.
Good luck in your choices and congrats on the scoot.
