I am curious. Did they change the Switchback since the first year (2012?) they came out?
I ask because the first year, I did a test ride, and did not care for it. My main complaint as I recall was that as short as I am, I felt like my knees were up to my chin.
Fast forward a couple years - I just traded my 2012 Wide Glide for a new 2014 Switchback. I did a test ride on a couple and I LOVED it. And I did the trade.
So my question is, why do I feel more comfortable on it now than I did back that first year?
no changes what so ever and quite frankly I don't know why you would feel your knees were at your chin if the 2012 was stock depending on how tall you are
I am 5'5" and my 2012 was nearly perfect for me, of course there have been a lot of changes to mine since then and it is NOW perfect for " me anyway "
LOL. Well I guess it was all in my imagination then! Not the boots - I actually have thicker soled boots NOW. I am thinking maybe I just was in a different frame of mind back then as to the bike I THOUGHT I wanted, which was a Heritage. Long story, gave it up after 1/2 year - temporary insanity, lol)
Fast forward to the Wide Glide. I actually had done a test ride AGAIN on a Switchback, but came back after about 2 miles and said something was DRASTICALLY wrong with the bike, (I was the 2nd person to tell them that). I ended up with the Wide Glide and really liked it, wasn't my first choice but was the deal that could be worked out at the time.
Fast forward a year, and my husband convinced me to test ride a Switchback again, because I DID always like the looks and concept of the bike, and I was saying "I wish I had floor boards, I wish I had hard bags", and other comments which were indications that I had a bike I really liked but with a "but" attached ....
I only have 150 miles on the Switchback, but already feel "at home" with it. Now to get the miles on !!
Thanks for the comments. And confirming I'm crazy, lol!
Pics ? Hmm .. I have one on my phone. Haven't changed my sig pic (Wide Glide), so I figured nothing was better than a wrong one, lol!
Harley fixed the bothersome vibration at 2,800 rpm that affected many Switchbacks. The problem was in the exhaust mount set up. The fix involved lightening the exhaust.

unfortunately it still didn't fix it on 100% of the 2015s
