I've got about 3000 miles on a set of Nightdragons. Seem to be wearing better than the stock Dunlops. The tires are really smooth and don't feel like their going to slip out from under you in a hard turn. My wife says she feels very secure on the back now.

Thanks guys.....I'm considering the Avons but for some reason my local Indy is leaning me towards the Dunlops. These guys know their stuff, not some fly by shop, they've been around for a long time. Still undecided.

That's because Dunlop has a proven "reliabilty" track record as long as king kongs arm,, but that only represents one aspect,, it doesn't make them the single best performer.
Heinz ketchup and/or Spam has been around a long time too and can be relied upon to do what they do,,(?) Know what I mean?

Yea I got ya there. I'm not overly concerned bout a few bux more or less, Id like to be sure I made the right choice for my driving style. I know some grip better then others at the cost of mileage, while others are the opposite.

From what Ive gathered the Night Dragons may be out of the question, while the Cobra's, Commanders II and 401's are still on the table. I've read pros & cons on Dunlop Elites also.

Man putting tires on my Ford is lot easier then this lol.

Lol, yeah easy to drive yourself nuts. I've personally had bad experience with Dunlop. So, those are never an option. Believe it or not, I prefer Metzler over all the others. And all you ever read on the interwebz is how shitty they are. Go figure?

I guess its like JonhMn said....the ole Chevy,Ford,Dodge debate. But waving the American flag points me towards the Dun's.

Im happy woth my OE scorcher31. Im at 9k miles on it. Its got a bit of tread left but i i saw a small cut in the tire, plus i want to go to a 180. Decent mileage and decent traction, im going to run it again. Hopefully commanderII will be offered in a 180 soon.

WEll, having newer bikes the tire choice is narrowed drastically. In order to match on my wide glide, its either Michelin Scorchers (not thrilled with them plus overpriced), or Pirelli Night Dragons (have had manufacturing issues in past and Pirelli has typically been garbage).

I wanted Commander II's, they don't make my rear size. Wanted Avon Venom's (ive run 150K miles on em), they don't make my size.

Scorchers are the OEM tire, handle ok, but wearing fast AND at about 4/32'nd sidewall roll has become very noticeable.

Anyone run Night dragons on a wide glide? How are they doing wet? 1/2 the cost of the Scorchers as well.

Rode Dunlop's for a long time. I'm trying the Commander II's now. Have a really good feel. Went a little wider on the front as well. Suppose to get more miles out of these.
So far so good!
