Default Tires, Tires, Tires

I know this has been beat to death but Please help!

Originals w/ 10K, local Indy said they're safe with good tread but a little hard. Bike sat covered all last year, I've heard pros & cons bout flats spots......anyway, going for new rubber, tubes n strips.
Plans are a couple road trips this year but mostly weekly commute (25miles round trip). Weekends I'll throw a couple hundred miles or so each day, some solo & some w/ the GF (105lbs) running the back country roads, very conservative rider, not a speed demon nor do I throw her into the twisties. At my age I'm just enjoying the ride. 04 Super Glide.

Lookin at the Avon Cobra, Pirelli Night Dragon, Michelin Commander II and considering sticking with the OEM, Dunlops

Thoughts Please.

For best mileage and great dry handling the Commander II's are going to be your best bet.

Im currently running a commander II on my bike and pushing it pretty hard (scraping pegs, some racing, lots of twisties,) handles great, wet handling is just OK, but its wearing a bit fast due to my current lots of in city driving and enjoying the "new" of parts as I test and play. My dad has a set on his Honda shadow and its great and they still look new with 4k miles on them, he is also a conservative "grandpa" rider, even though I put half those miles on the tires on his bike.

Ya know what?
They are all designed to compete with each other.
Meaning there's not a lot of difference. Each persons ride style and aggressiveness or lack of it as well as inflation care determines longevity and performance of any of these tires.
I like the sticky Night Dragon for my riding,, I'll sacrifice a few thousand miles extra longevity for the ability to hang on corning under throttle.
But basically the best tire is a new one,, when it come to spending $200 per tire divided by cost per year I don't care if I get 3 seasons or ten,, tires are something that's not worth my time scrimping on.

I've run the pirellis and the Metz on my wide glide, right now I'm running a shenko 777, so far it's outlasting both of those tire brands, I have 3500 miles or so on it and it looks brand new.. I had to replace my pirellis and 5500 miles and got about the same with the Metz.. Tire was 130 bucks installed here at a shop in AZ.

I know theres a lot of great tires out there and any new tires will feel right......I was just curious if there was a consensus on what everyone runs.

which 777's? they have the originals and a HD/ heavy duty version.

I ran the old ones on a shadow 750 and killed the rear in 4500mi. Awesome grip, and best tire I've ever ran in the rain, but thats pretty slim mileage especially on a light 750 cruiser.

Nope, believe me friend there's no more consensus about tires then there is about Chevy, Ford or Dodge,, Blondes, Brunettes or Red heads.
For the life of me after reading here an other places, and asking guy's on run's and installers,, they all love the tires they have,, and there all better then the last tire they had,
The only true common denominator about the tires folks love is they're new.
If you ask a dealer,, their tire is the best.

this is a dumb question but isnt the new dunlop tires rated to last 15000 miles. my flhtk got about 12000 miles on the rear and 16000 on the front. its the most mileage i ever got out of a harley tire....front or rear. of course last week with only 2000 miles i got a nail in my new rear tire...it sucked....had to replace a new tire ( i wont ride a motorcycle with a plug.)$340 down the tubes

Just put a new Commander II on the front. Won't run anything else if I can avoid it.

I'm really surprised with how good my Shinkos are handling.
