With forwards.

The heel and toe shifters have to be independently adjustable because I have range of motion limitations with my left ankle.
I have the one-piece heel toe shifter shown in the attached pic but can't flex my ankle to reach the "heel" part consistently. Whatever I do to raise the heel lowers the toe, and so on. Tried radically oversized pegs but to no avail.

In my simple world I'm thinking buying 33668-07, cutting the splined shaft piece and welding it in place of the splined shaft on the current set-up (H-D Dyna forwards), and throw on 2 shift levers. I figure I'm wrong but I'd like to understand why.

Often-wrong but never-in doubt, Sammi
Sammi that is what was done on mine. If you look at the pics in the thread it shows the spline after it was cut out of the current set up in the kit which is the same forward shift arm on the dyna forward. The same was done on the soft tail shift arm 33668-07 then welded it in the dyna arm which also is in the pic after it was welded. He did such a neat job I just touched it up with silver paint since it is on the inside anyway. The reason i got an adjustable shift rod was no matter what spline I moved the levers to it wasn't quite right(to high/to low) so it allowed me to clock it a little at a time. Hope this helps.

If you mean that you use the shift rod adjustment as a final small adjustment to move the levers to the perfect position, even though the're individually adjustable, I think I get it! (I never used the word "adjustment" that many times in one sentence before)

Thanks!!

Well, I remembered to bring the softail heel/toe shift rod I got into work today and spent two whole minutes pressing the "S" out of it, should work now. Hopefully I get to it to night and see how it works out.

Well, it's not the pretties thing right now, but it works flawlessly. Now that I know it works, I need to start searching for nicer looking arms. Most likely going to get an extended one for the heel lever go it isn't consuming the last inch or so of footboard.

Nice.

Think it will work with forwards? There's a space of about 1 1/2 inches the shaft has to pass through. I just sent you a pm.

Sammi, I replied to your PM. But forgot to add that yes, the rheel/ toe lever should work fine with your forward mount. I pull the black shift lever out of my forwards and used it when I put the boards on. The section you are talking about where the spline passes thru is the same size on the forwards and the board set up.
