Put the clear version of these on my forks and most of the buffering went away, at least until 85 http://rifle.com/Classic-Lowers-for-...rks-P2394.aspx Most buffering is actually coming up from under the tank. The air is drawn up due to the vacuum created by the windshield. There is a company that makes a windscreen with a vent, like a gold wing, and I've considered it too.
I made something similar to these that mounts to my QD Windshield. With these on I can wear a baseball cap at 70 MPH. Without these the cap flies off at 45 MPH. Ugly but effective.
I will ride with either these air deflectors on or no windshield. The clean air with no shield is better than the buffeting of the plain windshield.
Doesn't seem to affect engine cooling much.
Pardon the bug splatters.

Had the bike out for the first time since putting on the Memphis Shades lowers - WOW! What a difference! The buffeting was reduced by 80-90%. I can actually SEE straight at highway speeds now.
Good to hear those worked. I just ordered a set. I really prefer to ride without a windshield, but I'm trying to make a setup that works for touring, mostly for getting caught in the rain.
