I found a local before from Craigslist, don't know if that would help you or not.
Pan Head, what kind of paint did you use?
Some parts Joe will do an exchange with coated parts for the uncoated to reduce downtime. Don't know if they still do. You would have to call or pm. I found a local guy starting up and gave it a shot. Got about every chrome piece covered now. I believe in supporting the local shops if they do good work. Take something small first and if it turn out good then go back for more.

Randolphs self-etching, corrosion-inhibiting Epoxy Primer, with House of Kolor black base and 4 coats of Chroma-Clear. It's a very deep black and extreme high gloss clear. It rocks!

That's quite a difference for a couple hours work! What did you use to sand with the 1k and 2k grit?

Yeah I didn't know if he still did the exchange thing. I was thinking no so that's why I didn't mention it. Have no clue why I think that though...LOL

I like supporting the local guy too. Was just thinking that option since it sounds like he's having trouble finding one.
Maybe try talking to an indy shop, or body shop?

After the Zip Strip which I believe cuts the time in half, I used 1000K to 2000K grit in paper form, noting special, check out the fleabay I bought a package from 400 to 2000 cheap, nice lil rectangular cuts too. I mixed a lil dish soap in with the water, it helps to keep the paper from clogging quickly, I wiped down the forks periodically with plain water and also sprayed them down with a windex to remove the remaining film left from sanding. Then just polish away, like Nikolaiownz said, keep em polished or they won't stay pretty long.
