Cool '09 FXDL Picky problems

New to the forum and to HD. Just picked up an '09 Low Rider with less than 500 miles on it. Now I have just over 1k miles and have noticed some things for which I'm not thrilled and would love some feedback/opinions. I was very happy with my '05 Honda Shadow w/V&H pipes but needed more top end than the 750 provided.

1-weak front suspension. the front end does not absorb shock well at all. The forks are spongy, but don't bottom out completely. Any bumps in the road rock the whole bike. I had the bike tuned and fluids changed 3 weeks ago and dealer said shock oil was fine. Said changing to a higher viscosity oil may help. Researching preload fork adjusters http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/pr...zIEaAuHQ8P8HAQ

And a fork tuning kit. http://www.dragspecialties.com/products/?
productId=248905&partNumber=04050179 but would welcome thoughts and feedback.

2-rigid hard shifting. Is a clunky hard shift pattern normal for a 96cu engine?
3-handlebars - not sure what model these are but I was more comfortable with the drag bars on my '05 Shadow. Thoughts or preferences on bar set up?
4-Screaming Eagles - the SE pipe slip ons sound nice but not as ballsy as the V&H did on my Honda. Thoughts on V&H on an FXDL?

Thanks!
