I found some reasonably priced Soft tail bags on craigs list. I can not see the back sides of them to see if they have a shock cut out. Will they work on my '06 Dyna Street Bob? Or can they be made to work? I kinda feel they will not work but wanted to put the question out there before I totally gave up the idea. Thanks Terry

 

Not sure, but I doubt there will be a shock cut out because softtails have the shock under the bike. Your biggest problem, I would think, would be the distance between the mounting holes on the bags vs. the distance between the mounting holes on the struts of your Dyna. Most things can be modified to work, but will it look and work well?

 

Try and get some measurements on them. If they are about 12" (I believe) they will fit between the lights and shocks and won't need cut outs. They would need to be slanted to make that work also.
Like QDog said, you can make them work.
Any link to the listing or could you tell us a little more about them? If they are something like throw overs you could always use brackets and then the mount will be pretty much universal.

 

Thanks Guys, Guess I was hoping someone on here had already done what I was asking. I just really have always liked the original HD Heritage Softtail bags. I will get a hold of the seller for more info and maybe take a ride to see them in person.

 

I think I had these same bags on my WG at one time. All leather, plastic back and Harley buckles. I modified them to fit. I took them off because they were smaller than i expected. I still have them if interested.
