Based on my budget, I've narrowed it down to a couple bikes. One is a low mileage 2005, and the other is a 2009 that appears to be more stock, also with low miles. (Both are pretty close to 5k on em). The price is a few hundred difference. I like the color, and head start on mods that the 2005 has, but the 2009 may hold value longer?
I know the 2005 has stage 1 carb etc, but not sure about the 2009. Carb or EFI. Was there any significant differences between the models in those years? I'm not that familiar with the Dynas in general, and don't know any specifics on the Low Riders.

Go with the 2009. Fuel injection and 96 c.i. motor. It will cost more than a few hundred to make that 88 bigger, although there are guys that get a lot out of those motors.
Sounds like you have decided. As an addendum, I agree with the 09, especially if the prices are as close as mentioned. No choke/cold start problems with FI. Four fewer years deterioration of rubber goods and electronic/wiring, etc. Higher value, down the road. The LOW is very similar to my FXDC, and it is the best Harley I have owned to date, well, except maybe for the XR1200.
Good luck with your purchase, and post a pic or two. tomp
OK, pulled the trigger on the 09. Went and looked at it today, and put a deposit on it. Pick it up Saturday morning. 4120 miles on it. Now, I've got to find some louder exhaust and start changing things around a bit.
Daughter had to make sure it comfortable for two up. She approves.
