Default Jacking... um yeah

I mean jacking up your bike! I'm looking at my wide glide and was going to jack it up with my Craftsman motorcycle/atv jack and I don't see how you can possibly jack this thing up without hitting the kick stand or oil pan. Anyone have any good methods for jacking? lol

Jack mine up with the Craftsman jack, I cut the cross piece off the front of the jack to begin with to clear the jackstand. Then add wood block spacers on the front to level the bike, and a rear spacer on the left to make up for the metal piece on the bottom of the frame on the right. Was up on the jack in my living room all winter with no problems. Even rolled it around on the jack....and sat on it.
To get it under mine due to mine having a lowered rearend, I park the bike on 2x6's under the tires and jackstand. Works for me...Others will have better ideas I am sure.

Yeah the cross beam in the front of the jack is stupid. I'm going to cut mine off and just weld it back on further back. What kind of dog do you have? Is that a border coillie?

What WideGlide said, I just cut a few pieces of 2x4 up and used that. No point in giving Moco more of my money for something I have laying around the garage.

Are you guys using the red one or the yellow one? My yellow craftsman works fine on my WG. It basically sits on the kick stand and the piece that comes down to protect the oil pan on the right. Sturdy as can be.

I have the red crapsman jack and the HD blocks.

so, I use the 2x4s under the bikes tires, then I ride the bike up onto the planks, roll the jack under the bike and the HD blocks hold in up real nice!.

This is probably the most labor intensive way to go, but i think its the safest way to go for both the bike and the guy working on it!
