Japanese front brake upgrade?
I'm looking to hear from anyone who has swapped out their stock front brake calipers for Japanese ones.
I have an '01 FXDX with dual calipers and I've tried many things to make the front brakes better, but they still suck, so I'm pondering this cure rather than throw more money at the problem.
If anyone can help with the following questions:
1) Is there a particular brand (tokico, nissin, etc.) that "fits better". (I know that I would need a bracket a la Fab Kevin regardless)
2) Can I use the Japanese m cyl? i.e. Will it mate with the MoCo's switch housing?
3) Will I need floating rotors?
I'm aware of the HD Brembo option, but from what I know about Japanese braking, this would seem a more effective, and less expensive solution.
Thanks for your time, and my apologies if this has already been covered.
