30 on the front, 36 on the rear. If you have a passenger bump the rear to 40psi

I keep mine at 34 in the front 40 in the back all the time. Got 20,000 miles on the front stock Dunlop 401 before it was replaced. I got 10,700 on the first rear tire. Got almost 10,000 on the second rear tire and it's not even close to being worn.

I would go with what the manual says. They put the info in for a reason. I believe the pressure on the tire is the max pressure, not the suggested operating pressure, should be 36R/30F or 40R with a PAX.

I continue to be amazed by members who say 'always follow the manual and not what it states on the tire' regarding the proper pressure to run, because the manual is always correct.
When you have put that second set of tires on the bike that are not the same size and brand as what came on the machine, how in the world can these members tell you to follow the manual?
Always follow what it states on your tire sidewall for both load rating and max tire pressure. Tire manufacturers make the tires.....Harley-Davidson does not.......pg

I agree. I have always put the pressure in the tire that is states on the sidewall and have never had a problem with handling or excessive tire wear.

Pinion - that is one beautiful Sporty!

I continue to be amazed by members who say 'always follow the manual and not what it states on the tire' regarding the proper pressure to run,...
If the writing on your sidewall says, "Operating pressure = xx" then you are so right and have put us all in our places. We worship you. But if your sidewall just says "xx psi" that is, as stated many times in many threads, the maximum pressure, not the recommended operating pressure.

If you run stock tires, use the manual. If you don't run stock tires, but do run tires recommended for your bike, then the manufacturer will probably have recommended pressures in their tech documents. They will almost certainly be within a couple of pounds of the manual. If you run tires not specifically recommended for your bike, start with the manual and adjust by feel. (You can actaully feel when a tire is riding right.)

Splatter....
I have to take issue with you here. If you want to include a 'quote' I made, then at least do it correctly and completely.
I will state once more what my next to the last sentence was:
"Always follow what it states on your tire sidewall for both load rating and max tire pressure." I did not say to run the maximum pressure, but...
Myself, I always keep both tires at the max. Everyone is free to do whatever they want. Heck, run 8 lbs in each tire if it makes you happy..........pg
