In the old days, (and even now, but less often) when I rode with a full face helmet, I always had a Sena Bluetooth kit in it so I could answer the phone and listen to tunes. I find I'm riding a lot nowadays with a Akoury brain bucket - obviously not suited to a Bluetooth setup.

I've seen Bluetooth earphones - stereo ones connected together via a hanging wire, a plastic band that goes around the back of your head, etc. I've also seen single ear "earwig" kinds of devices - single buds that barely extend beyond the ear. Like this:

I'm thinking about trying one - not for music so much, but to hear when my phone rings. (I have one of those jobs where I need to be in touch - or at least listen to the vm someone just left me) No way do I hear or feel the vibe when the phone rings.

Just wondering if anyone has tried such a device before I buy.

Hmm, it would be cool if Power Vision had a caller ID screen that your phone could be sync'd with.

The other day I had a vision, liquor cotton candy, like if you're at the state fair, bam, shot a liquor in cotton candy.

Other than that, I am of no help with you on this.

Cheers

What about powered alcohol?! Not a shot, but cotton candy that gets you a buzz and a sugar rush! Hmmm.....

I use a Sony SBH50 on longer rides - bluetoothed to my phone it gives me turn directions from the navigator, music, and alerts me when the phone rings. Plus, the ear buds act like earplugs, so you don't have to crank it up loud to hear it. You can speak into the unit to use the phone, but not so clear at any sort of speed (probably haven't found somewhere sufficinetly out of the wind). Buds are very small, stay in the ears well, Idon't have any difficulty getting them under my helmet. Battery lasts ages (8 or 10 hours or somesuch from memory).

Reason I chose it was the headphones can be swapped out for any standard 3.5 plug headphones you like.

Why isn't it suited? Not enough space or is it a half helmet? I'd say get you a shark helmet that allows you to be full face or 3/4 helmet depending on mood. Should be room for BT in that. I'd think ear buds get painful after awhile...maybe not.

Yeah around town or low speed rides I use a half. No room for any electronics. I have a rf2100 with a smh10r (and the awesome transitions visor) for longer, faster rides. But I want something that works with the half.

I'll stay tuned to this thread to see what people come up with. I've been riding with my half helmet at bit and really miss having my Sena.

If its just about knowing when the phone rings, and seeing who's calling, you could consider a smartwatch. You can't listen to VMs, but you will know who is calling, or that you got a call if they are not in your contacts. OG Pebble Watches are very cheap. On you wrist, or strap it to your bike.

I've worn a smartwatch since the first pebble came out, and it nice to take a quick peek and see who is calling. I can feel it vibrate on my wrist wiith my pebble steel. Depending on which jacket, I can't always see it, but at this point, I assume its my wife.

Of course, if you need to listen to the VM, this does not help.
