For that kind of cash you might be able to find an 88 already punched out to a 95 with updated cam chain tensionor or gears!

I started with a sporty and got tired of hitting the rev limiter. Tried an 88ci and got the same thing. 07 Street Bob and I haven't hit the rev limiter but once or twice in 8k miles. I am happy with the 96.

I kind of agree with Brettfullthrottle. The 88 built to a 95 will keep up with a 96 easy (my buddy had one and his bike was a helluva lot heavier than mine) and probably cheaper too. Yes you can get an 07 for $8k all day long. Try to find one that still has the performance mods on it as a lot of people strip everything off before they sell.

This. I have a 2015 Low Rider with Stage 1 and it is a very responsive motor. More than enough power for my needs.
