I have a 2008 fxd that I had the mustang with the backrest on, didn't work for me, never got used to it. went to the harley dealer and tried the sundowner and the touring seat that they demo, both big seats, didn't work either, they had a used dyna that had a lepera solo seat that felt good to me. so I called lepera and talked to them, ended up with a deluxe solo seat from them that I really like, everyone is built different and what works for one rider won't work for everyone, all trial and error, have fun

Trial and error is what I've been doing.....getting very old and I'm getting very poor as a result.

It would help a lot knowing how you ride, trips, solo, weekends only etc....
On my Dyna bikes I like the C&C seats. If you do LD riding then these may not work for you. I have done 400 mile rides with the C&C seats with no problems for me. They will push you back about a inch and half +- giving you more room for your legs.

Bike is mainly my around town two up/solo bike and semi long trip (150 miles) solo bike. I just did a 15 min ride with the wide tripper and I couldn't walk right after getting off. Like it pinched a nerve in my back or something.

I just emailed C&C about at seat for my bike. Not a fan of the flame seat but if it make my bike ridable i'll deal with it.

I'm 6' and about 3 bucks. I've got a Street Bob that I put forwards on cause my hips would cramp up bad.
I don't know that the mids are your problem but your seat not fitting your back right.
I got a Corbin Solo Touring seat with back rest. Did wonders for me.
What about changing out just your risers or even riser extensions?

My elbows are bent when riding so I don't think it's me reaching for the bars when I sit where I want. Now with the wide touring with backrest that I sent back when I would sit into the backrest I did feel like I was reaching for the bars. I mean the only part that is hurting me with the wide tripper I have now is right in the middle. It's like their seat pan comes up there and there is only like a 1/2 of foam there so I'm sitting in the seat pan there.

mustang might be the wrong brand of seat for you, try a different brand, most two up seats push you foward. maybe a solo with a pad would work better.

Yeah I went with Mustang as thats what I had on my sportster and liked it, guess the Dyna is that much different. All of the seats I've had were solos with a separate passenger pad.
