Default MX-T Bars vs Z bars

Alright guys I got my stage one done Monday and thought I would be able to leave my bike alone for a while before spending anymore money on upgrades... well that lasted 4 days

So I've had an internal debate on bars, I love two styles and can't commit to 1. too bad bars aren't quick-change!

I really love the feel of the MX style T bars, just not super keen on the look when I have the fairing off, also just haven't decided 10 or 12" yet.

And I really love the look of the Z bars like road 6 customs in 12". but the feel is not much different my stock bars which are just "ok".

So I thought I would start a thread on the Z vs T debate.

If this has already been started my bad, I'll delete.

I just installed my WC MXT's. Love em'. If your plan is to run the fairing most of the time....t's no question.

Maybe the adjustable bung king t's would be a healthy compromise?

I went with the 10" West-Coast T-bars on my FXDB and I couldn't be happier. Also switched out the stock Harley rubber bushings for some firmer PU ones. The handling difference is like night & day.

Of everything I've done to my bike, those bars are tied for first-place with the new pipes.

Not the best picture, but you get the idea:

12's. I'm 6 ft and they are just below shoulder height. Wouldn't go to 14 or 16 if you plan on any distance touring IMO.

I recently switched from 12" road 6 customs to 12" t bars. It was a night and day difference. But I also added a gauntlet fairing. With the road 6 my hands would go numb and the wrist position was a bit weird for me. But they were great bars. I'm much happier with the 12" t bars now.

16" R6C z bars for me.

If you plan on having the fairing on more often than not, I'd say go with the t-bars. Not sure how z bars would look with it.

I have had drag bars, 14" mini apes and just installed 9" forbidden risers with a set of pro taper bars. This is the most comfortable set up I have ever experienced plus I can ride the dyna like a super moto; amazing control. The benefit of going with separate bars and risers over a fixed t-bar is adjustability; you can rotate the bar to your preference. You can get quite a bit of adjustment with a 3" bar. You get about 12" of rise and at 6'4" it is perfect.
