Just installed a OPT 7 LED bulb in my 2002 Softtail headlight bucket. Was a tight fit but barely managed without removing or cutting anything. It's supposed to be 40 Watt, 3,500 lumens at 6000K and it does seem a lot brighter and whiter than the Osram 60/58W that was in there. One reason I bought the softtail bucket is it has a ribbed glass front which disperses light more evenly than the clear ones like my '04 FXDL came with. Now have to wait for dark to run around the neighborhood and see what real difference it makes. If it's as bright as it seems and lasts for the 2 year warranty it's a good deal for $55. It seemed highly rated on Amazon.

Well satisfied with the output and think it was $54.99 very well spent. Seems to put out a much wider and brighter pattern than regular bulb so it lights up the sides of the road much better without losing any range.
It's also the first bulb than I can set low beam properly to ride at a decent speed and still use high beam like it's meant to be used. With regular bulbs, when I set low beam where I want it, high beam was always pointing way too high.
I think this OPT 7 is yards better than anything I've tried, including the High Output bulb HD used to sell, Spectras Xenon 65/75W 6000K, several Osrams, even a 100/90W I ran until it started clouding the reflector in my old bucket from overheating.
I can't speak for how well it will pattern with a clear lens but it rocks with my ribbed lens.
After looking at my options I got the Rivera Primo Stage 3.... I just couldn't bring myself to spend 400 for a daymaker or stuffing a LED bulb in it....
I have yet to ride it at night just installed it yesterday... here's some pics

Ha, and I couldn't bring myself to pay for either the Daymaker or the Rivera so I bought the best LED bulb I could stuff into the bucket. When I ordered it I figured it was 50/50 on whether or not I'd return it. I also half expected it to not fit but it did. Now my wife has one more charge to complain about. Let us know how the Rivera performs.

If you don't mind me asking, what did this cost you and did you have to order through a dealer or can you order direct?
I finally got a chance to test my Chinese LED bulb. Pretty damn nice and it was $22 shipped. Can't remember how many lumens it's supposed to be, but I remember it was "advertised" higher than everyone.
Got the stupid thing in a week also.
My only complaint, or my wife's anyway, is it doesn't shine bright during the day.
