I received my tuner in the mail today, followed instructions and upgraded it, hooked it up to my bike (2013 street bob), and it only gave me one option for tune which was V&H slip-ons. all the other options said there was no compatibility test for my model. I called customer support and they basically said theres only the one tune for my bike and since i have a different setup the only thing i can do is return it. Im not a happy guy. I also hear superchips was bought and theyre discontinuing the tuner.
My question for you guys is the should i go ahead and do the tune on my bike anyway? I have the freedom performance sharp curve 2-2 and a cobra intake. Would the slip-on tune not work right or better over the stock HD tune? They gave me a RA# to return it on my dime, but then i have to wait to order a different tuner for double the money. Any opinions?
Return the Superchip and to be honest depending on how the have marketed their tuner I would get them to pay to ship it back. I've never been a fan of Superchip since they sent out several updated tunes for my Charger that were super bugy and caused my motor to backfire a couple of times.
Just ordered the V&H fuelpak3. I shouldve just ordered that to begin with like I was planning on. Screw Superchips. Ill get a diablo for my Ram now. Its just BS they say its for my year bike but only offer 1 tune. That's very misleading and terrible business practice.
I put the tune in my 13 Street Bob and just selected the generic high flow intake and exhaust settings.
It worked perfect. No throttle lag, smoother idle and a noticeable improvement it power. Many miles on that tune so far.
I had the Superchips for my Ram truck a few years back. The company is slow on updates but the reason is they have concentrated on their biggest market which is HD touring bikes.
I got two EZ tuners for $150 each. Plus you can add as many bikes to a tuner as you need to at an additional fee of $150 to get a code to unlock it. Best bargain in the tuning world!
I liked the tune so much that when I dropped a 120R in the Street Bob I kept the ECM with the 103 in case I wanted to put the motor into something.
Had a new blank ECM installed for the 120R and used the HD SE Pro Racing tuner set it up.
I have had the ez tuner from the start, use a tune for a different set up because they don't have one for my setup. had to play with it for a while but it works very good. find a set of pipes that are close. and add high flow air. see if that works. I have rinehart pipes and run the tune for shotgun longs. hope accel will up grade the old tuners as they go along. they will be in sturgess with the new tuner, maybe someone can ask and see what they have to say.
Although I have a Vigilante EZ (and it did work for my bike), I would return it if you have any concerns. As you mentioned it has been discontinued. (Unless the Accel Product, which looks similar is going to be compatible)
This was in their email today:
The Vigilante Harley-Davidson tuner from Superchips has been discontinued. Harley customers looking for a tuning solution should check out our sister company, the ACCEL Performance Group. ACCEL offers a host of products for Harley-Davidson including coils, spark plugs, voltage regulators, and more. They will be unveiling their all-new Stealth SuperTuner at the 2015 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Check them out today at www.accel-motorcycle.com.

The only option that would work is the v&h slip ons and generic intake. No other exhaust options work. I'm not sweating. Ordered the fuelpak3 with amazon prime. Ill have it Thursday. Twice the price but more options and no hassles.
I suggest sending it back sooner rather that later, they won't refund if its been over a month. I am stuck with one without any maps for my setup, guess I shouldn't have waited to see if Superchips was going to add more maps.
