Hey, I have an 06 Dyna Street Bob, and I bought Vance and Hines Short Shots, and I like them alot, but I think a longer pipe would fit the look that I'm going for, but I'm have trouble deciding on the Vance and Hines Big Shot Staggards, or the Python Staggards.....I know Vance and Hines makes Python, and they are pretty much the same pipe all except for the fixed end cap, but all the pictures I have seen of the two pipes it looks to me like the Pythons are longer, am I the only one seeing this? Do both pipes give the same sound? The same performance? Suggestions?
I have the Pythons and I really cant tell any difference. They sound pretty good. Not too loud but loud enuf. Evidently must sound good, buddy has had several Harleys and while riding last weekend he actually came out and said he really liked the tone. My last bike had Sampson Calibers and it was loud and deep, but it was also a carbed bike. Had more of a loping idle. wish my SB could sound like that. But I still have that grin every time I fire it up.
i have the python dual staggereds as well, and i chose them above the v&h big shots because the local dealerships guys said the pythons havea deeper, richer sound to them. i've heard some big shot staggereds and i think it's true, the pythons do sound a little better. but i would recommend going with the v&h fuelpack instead of dropping a lot of money for SERT and custom dyno tune. i went the latter route and it was a waste of money. i think the fuelpack would have worked even better, with no hiccuping and popping, which is what i ended up with because the harley tuner guys just gave up trying to smooth it out. but good luck with your pipe selection!
I was just thinking the same thing. Been looking at pics all day of each set. I called Eastern Performance today and they said 424.95 for the Pythons for my 07 SB. The BSS are only like 20.00 more.
They're both called BSS, and iianm they're identical. I have the pythons and I love them- with the PCIIIUSB and some tweaking I don't have any popping, and once it warms up it has that harley lublublublub sound. I'm DEFINATELY louder than most other bikes tho.
Don't know about the Pythons, but I love the thick chrome plating and rich sound on the V&H pipes. I have the Big Radius on my 06 Lowrider and my dad has the shortshots staggered on his 06 Heritage (both from Eastern Performance). 100% satisfied with V&H and Eastern.
Bought a set of pythons from Eastern Performance for $369 for my '07 Bob. Arrived in a week, in the original box, look perfect. I installed them 2 nights ago. I don't have the PCIII or Sert yet, or a new a/c, but I took her for a ride and she sounded fantastic. I will be ordering the rest of stage 1 kit very soon, but so far I am very happy with the look and sound of these pipes.
