I am also using the stock windshield hardware with Memphis Shades replacement plastic. I also found the buffeting was pretty severe but I was able to adjust the whole setup to pretty much eliminate most of it. It took a lot of tweaking to get the right height, angle, and making sure it was mounted as perpendicular as possible to the wind direction. I learned that sometimes there is a lot more to getting a windshield to work the way you want it to than just slapping it on with an eyeball alignment.
I am thinking about replacing the plastic on my oem qr HD windshield. The MS # is 2310-0092 which is a 17" gradient black replacement. The website doesn't include any dyna over 2005 for fitness. I have a 2007 fcdc & the dimensions for holes, width, & headlights on the windshield are the same as the Memphis Shades. Has anyone done this setup ?

I have that exact screen for my 2004. It was exact fit on HD Compact windshield quick detach brackets. Since I've switched to a fairing, make me an offer on the Mint Condition 2310-0092 if you'd like.
Picked up a used, beat up HD QR compact shield, replaced the trashed plastic with a mamphis shades stock replica, which looked good, but gave me a hell of a lot of buffeting on my face, so off it went.
Next, bought a National Cycles Deflector Screen, which didn't even make it on the bike. The mounting system just didn't work well with my T-Bars and my headlight position (a little lower then most). So that's back in the box and going on the classifieds.
I took a gamble on a Memphis Shades Del Rey Sportshield, and I gotta say, it's pretty damn perfect. Keeps the air off my chest, yet no buffeting (clean air) in the face/head. Plus the brackets (which unfortunately stay on the forks) don't look too bad, and are interchangeable with all their shields, AND their Cafe fairing which I may try at some point, just to change things around. Pretty happy. All in about $225...
Sweeeeeeet Bike, I'm loving those handlebars, what size are they and where did you get them from, and did you have to swap out any cables, tell me the stock ones fit?
