I just bought a 2011 wide glide and I'm wanting to put a quick detach sissy bar with luggage rack on it for overnight trips with the wife. All the parts to complete it was quoted at 550 dollars through HD (parts only). I'm looking on ebay at some used ones but can't figure out which dyna model sideplates/sissy bars will work with my bike. I found a set up off a 06 street Bob but don't wanna buy it if it's not gonna fit. Anyone know which ones will work or better yet know where a setup is for sale?
Your sideplates, sissy bar and luggage rack, must be for a 2010 and up wide glide. Nothing else will work. Might be hard to find a used set from that new of models. $550 is about what I paid for mine from HD.

Shwee, that's brutal considering I'll only use it 3 or 4 times a year but looks like I have no choice.... how you like those night dragon tires? That's another thing that is extremely limited on choice for these wheels, Tires!
Mine came stock with Scorcher 31s. I got 10k out of those. So far the NGs seem to feel and handle pretty well. How do you run your bike normally, ie. solo seat/2 up seat? HD makes a luggage rack for a solo set up, plus there are aftermarket sissy bars, I'm not sure if a luggage rack can be paired up with one. If it helps, the HD luggage rack is around $100, the sissy bar, sideplates and pad are around $450.
They call them scorchers cause thats what they do to your wallet when you pay for them! I got the rear night dragon for 170 w/ free ship at dennis kirk and front was around 80. I run with a 2 up seat because I strap my stuff for work on the passenger pad. Harley has the rigid mount luagge rack the works with sissy bar on the bike for 145 but it's not one that can be taken on and off quickly. 90% of the time I don't need or want a sissy bar/rack but thay other 10% is the problem.
I got ya. I run with my sundowner and my sissy bar all the time. I only use the luggage rack when taking long trips.
I'm the same way my luggage rack stays on I have a little tool bag I put some stuff in plus a cargo net just incase I need to strap something to the luggage rack/ sissy bar
