Default 2013 dyna got older mags put on (info inside)

a local guy here in the bay area has a kit he sells that come with spacers and sleeves, the new dynas have a 25mm axle these old wheels are 3/4 the wheels have to be 2000 and up mags with the sealed bearings

there is still work on your end though, he had to get my rear wheel machined to accept the sleeve and bearings, the front was fine, he said some years didnt have to machine the rear wheel

i didnt have to change my rotor as the spacers he has works with the stock front rotor,

heres the spacers on the front rotor

and the finish product

so to recap

mag wheels have to be 2000 and up the older wheels use tapered bearings and wont work, you may need to machine rear wheel we had to on mine, you can use your stock pulley/rotors

here is his email address

Good post! I put 07 wheels on mine after powder coating. The newer 25mm bearings fit in the hub but were narrower than the 1" bearings so I had to get wider spacers to make it work.

The differences you guys are seeing are 2000 - 2007 aren't all the same. Some had .750" axles and some had 1" axles making some require machining and some not.

Nice. New wheels are lookin good! Are you going to run a dual rotor setup since the wheel is capable of it?

yeah like said above he told me that some wheels did not require machining to use his spacer kit, the rear wheel i bought had to be machined to 1'' to accept his new spacers/sleeves

Going to a smaller / narrower rear wheel seems like a downgrade. Looks way better than spokes though.

downgrade yes less contact patch...but i dont feel any difference

and the best part? you get a nail in spokes your screwed you cant plug it, your either going to tow it home or your on the side of the road dismounting tire and putting a new tube in

at least with mags you can plug that thing up and keep riding, and the ride with mags feels alottttt more better, my spoke wheels didnt feel as solid probably because the spokes flex

If you can't feel any difference with the smaller tire than that's cool. I think it's rad that the mags feel that much better. I can't wait to get mine on.
