Thinking about trading in my '08 superglide to either a '12 or 13' switchback. Tired of having to put a rack on for a bag. would love the option of being able to take bags off. looked at street glide, but they're just to freaking expensive. plus I love the dyna's. How well do they preform, do they make a lot of cosmetic mods? I'd love to do some apes. Anyone here with one that has pictures?. What are your opinion's on the bike.

no one? bummer

I happen to like the looks of the switchbacks they seem like the best of both worlds. I think the knock on them is if your going to spend that much on a dyna why not pony up the extra cash and buy a full bagger.
I've never riddin a switchback but they are definitely pretty damn cool especially some of the modded ones I have seen.
If you do trade you'll turn a lot of heads people won't know what to say..all they see are black street glides lately.
I say do it

I really like the looks of the front end. But, I'm not sure I would buy a bike with floorboards.

I am personally looking at trading my dyna for a road king. I have never ridden a switchback but have ridden about a half dozen dynas and own a street bob. The suspension, ride quality of touring is just so much more comfortable. I believe you should at least consider touring if that is the style bike you are after.

Honestly, a touring bike will handle better than a switchback and ride better than a switchback. And I would never buy a touring bike, so take that FWIW.

I have a Switchback. When I was shopping for a new bike, I had test ridden a Street Bob, Fat Bob, SuperGlide and the then new 2014 Road King.

Of the Dyna's, I thought the FLD handled the best. Compared to the Road King, I thought the RK handled a little better with better suspension and definitely better brakes. It's also 100lbs over the FLD and I noticed the weight difference. I was coming off a sporty bike (Suzuki SV1000S) and wanted agility and "fun". The RK felt like a Cadillac, while the FLD had a rawness about it I liked.

I love having floor boards to be able to have different positions to put your feet for long rides. I can stretch out or just have my toes hanging off the end of the floor board for more aggressive riding. Love having the hardbags. Yes, they are smaller than the RK, but I can carry a 6 pack, tools and stuff a jacket in them. In other words, they are big enough ..... for me. Yes, bigger would be better, but they are pretty decent. I'm 205lbs, 6' w/ 34" inseam. After upgrading the forks, shocks, Vibratech front motor mount, Stage 1, LRS windshield and a Corbin seat with back rest, the bike works for me. I don't regret going with the FLD, nor passing on the RK.

Not going for the RK or a bigger touring bike because of the extra weight. Like the idea of a smaller bagger style with the option of taking the bags off, but with it looking that good, I probably wont. Like it that it has a 103, I have a super glide that's a 96 inch and love the power. Just looking for a bike a bit more low to the ground, will be changing the seat and putting some 12 inch apes on it. now I know this may be a little far away from this bike, but am also looking at fatboys.

all the bikes I've owned have had some sort of pegs, and I'm always moving my feet looking for a comfortable position. I take a couple of 300 to 700 mile trips throughout the year and need a little more comfort in my old age. thinking the FLD is an in between stage sort of bike, still sporty yet a partial touring. I need enough bag space to carry for weekenders. if I need more, then I'd strap a small bag to the back seat.

I think the Switchback is a good solid choice. I have never ridden one, but I've seen some really nice looking ones on this forum.
