Looking to swap out the stock bars on my 04, currently 3.5 rise/1.5 pullback. I like my hands where they now, just like to get them up a lil higher, considering 8" maybe 10" mini's. I know most of the bikes here are newer but thought I'd throw it out there incase someones done this on a past 04, curious if I'll need cables & wire extensions for 8 or 10s?
I don't have a problem swapping them out, I just want to have everything I need before I begin.
Thanks in advance.
You can look up your bike and then add cable length. New cable length will depend not only on height but also width if you are going much wider than what you currently have. If you are staying with roughly same width and adding 5-7" in height you will probably want to go with stock plus 6" in cable length.

I replaced 14" apes with 10" minis on a 2004 FXDLI last fall/winter. Since I was taking off the ridiculous big-*** apes at the time, I also decided to replace the long-*** aftermarket throttle cables and brake line with OEM parts and since the wiring harness was long enough, I took out the wiring harness extensions and also repaired the wiring that some PO butchered up putting them in.
In my digging around looking for parts, I found out that minis were optional on 2004 Low Riders and Wide Glides. I used the minis, throttle cables, clutch cable, and brake line called out for a Wide Glide on both my 2001 Super Glide and the 2004 Low rider. I could not get the right clutch cable for the Low Rider so I kept the long one...I drilled holes in the handle bars and ran the wiring internal on the Low Rider...not a big deal at all...

Thanks for the replies guys, the local indy told me I would need to replace everything, I'm considering order the Burly extension kit, this way if I run into any trouble I'll have the parts on hand. I was consider 12" Khrome Werks and a Burly kit, just a click over $200 for bars and cables. I'll need to do a lil more research on the KW bars. Thanks
skinman13, are those 10"s on there in the pic?
8541hog, I haven't done a bar swap before but I'm pretty mechanically inclined to tackle it, if I do run into a problem I have an old fishing partner who's brother works at the local HD.
